‘He’ll get smashed to pieces’- Conor Benn delivers verdict on Chris Eubank Jr vs Terence Crawford and rips into rival for choosing opponent

Conor Benn has slammed rival Chris Eubank Jr's potential fight with Terence Crawford, and given a bold prediction.
Eubank Jr hasn't fought since defeating Liam Smith in their huge rematch in 2023, but initially held talks over an all-British war with rival Benn.
The fight talks eventually collapsed, with uncertainty over Benn's British boxing licence, which left Eubank Jr pursuing alternative fights.
Reports indicated that Eubank Jr was in talks to stage a bumper showdown with undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford at 160lb later this year.
He confirmed the reports on his social media, hinting that the fight will be his primary objective for 2024.
With the pair's bitter rivalry still simmering away, Benn has insisted that he believes his foe will lose the fight in devastating fashion.
He told : “I think it will be a great fight, well, not a great fight, it will be a very one-sided fight, but I’d like to see the fight because I’d like to see Eubank get smashed to pieces.
“I think everyone looks at Eubank because he’s easy work. After his last few performances, he hasn’t looked great at all. He’s definitely on a downhill trajectory.
"I’m not a betting man, but if I was I’d bet you I can almost guarantee you that that’s all smoke; smoke and mirrors.
"It’s not happening, it’s all rubbish, but obviously Eubank wants the fight with me, so he isn't fighting Janibek [Alimkhanuly], so why’s he fighting another welterweight? With the same trainer? Do you know what I mean?”
'The Destroyer' went on to suggest he would have received a totally different public reception, if he had agreed to step in the ring with 'Bud'.
He continued: “Let’s see if there’s any uproar about him [Eubank Jr] fighting a welterweight [Crawford] again, and let’s see if there’s any uproar at him fighting at 160lbs.
"It’s ridiculous. The public pick and choose what’s suitable and what’s not suitable, when it suits.”
Benn is in talks of his own to face boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, who is set to come back from retirement in pursuit of a Saudi Arabia payday.
An official date has yet to be revealed, but the respective teams are targeting June if the Middle East confirm their investment in the event.
The British public will likely continue to be demanding of Eubank Jr and Benn touching gloves, but it seems unlikely for now.
