We've had Usain Bolt race against Noah Lyles, Tyreek Hill, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, a cheetah and even an ostrich.

Well, only in a 3D simulation, we might add.

In the latest instalment of this rather bizarre series on YouTube, Bolt has gone up against, yep, you guessed it, a greyhound.

YouTube account is behind the crazy simulations, where they use Bolt's 100m world record time of 9.58 seconds and compare it to anything and everything.

However, a greyhound would present Bolt with a serious challenge.

Greyhounds are known to clock speeds of over 70km/h, with MotionAthlete claiming one even hit 77km/h in 2023, which equates to 21 metres per second.

Safe to say, Bolt was going to be up against it in this canine classic.

As soon as the starting gun went, the greyhound built a lead that grew larger with every paw print.

In fact, the greyhound was nearly halfway down the track within three seconds while Bolt had barely made it 10 metres.

The greyhound races over the line and is timed at 5.80 seconds, leaving Bolt looking like a tortoise as he laboured behind despite holding the 100m world record time.

The alternative view of the race showed an unusually demoralising perspective for Bolt, who can only watch as the greyhound streaks away to victory.

To even the playing field and make it more of a contest, MotionAthlete kindly handed Bolt a four-second headstart.

It makes for quite the image as the greyhound, evidently well trained, patiently waits on the starting line while Bolt makes a mad dash for the finish.

The greyhound then gets the all-clear to leg it up the track.

Bolt holds the narrowest of leads with only a handful of metres left to go, but even with the four-second headstart, he is pipped to the line by the greyhound in a near-photo finish.

Although Bolt in his prime would have lost against a greyhound, at least he can say he still holds the 100m world record for humans and is an eight-time Olympic champion.

The Jamaican made his Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Games, where he picked up gold medals for the men's 100m and 200m events.

Bolt added three more to his collection in 2012 as he retained his 100m and 200m crowns and also won the men's 4x100m relay.

At Rio 2016, he won all three events yet again as he bid farewell to the Olympics forever and retired from athletics a year later.
