The Men's T20 World Cup returns to the forefront of the cricketing calendar this weekend as the four-week long tournament gets underway in Texas on Saturday night, with the USA co-hosting the tournament for the very first time.

West Indies join as co-hosts, with the final to be played in Barbados, the scene where England won their first ever World Cup title in this format back in 2010.

England return to the West Indies as the reigning world champions having won the last edition of the tournament back in November 2022, beating Pakistan in the final in Melbourne.

India head into the competition as tournament 11/4 favourites with the IPL having come to a conclusion only last weekend, with the side, captained by Rohit Sharma, looking for to be crowned T20 world champions for the first time since the inaugural edition in 2007.

Australia, who were crowned world champions of the 50-over format last autumn, have the chance to double-up their white ball trophies, becoming just the second team to do so after England's 2022 win made them world champions in both formats.

The Aussies, captained by Mitchell Marsh, are second favourites at 7/2 with many of their squad performing very well at the IPL over the last couple of months.

Defending champions England are third favourites at 9/2 to defend their title, buoyed by the recent return from injury of fast bowler Jofra Archer to their seam attack.

Jos Buttler's side get their tournament underway against Scotland in Barbados on Tuesday afternoon before taking on Australia in a Group B clash at the same ground. Matthew Mott's side will then travel to Antigua where they'll face Oman and Namibia, looking to secure a top two spot that will take them to the Super 8s.

Other contenders for the title are South Africa at 13/2 who are still looking for the first world title in any format, while two-time champions West Indies are 8/1 and have impressed in recent series at their home grounds.

2021 runners up New Zealand and 2009 champions Pakistan are both priced further afield at 9/1 to become T20 world champions.
