One England fan lived every cricket lover's dream as he pulled off a phenomenal catch at Old Trafford - all whilst holding a pint.

With England batting in the third day of their first Test against Sri Lanka, Mark Wood hit a huge six straight towards a section of fans watching on.

But instead of ducking out the way, one spectator quite literally grabbed the opportunity, catching the ball crisply with one raised hand.

To make it all the more impressive, the supporter had a pint in his other.

And there only minimal spillage of his beverage during his effort, too.

"Might get one or two more [pints] now!" Sky Sports' commentary team said.

England's coaches were also blown away by the catch.

Ex-England star Paul Collingwood was seen looking impressed, holding up an imaginary pint to emphasise how mind-blowing it was the fan managed to catch the ball so well whilst holding his drink.

The fan was then seen saluting the crowd as he basked in the moment.

Fans on social media were stunned by the smooth catch too.

"Four pints deep and he makes that - sign him up," one fan wrote on X.

A second said: "Wow what a catch!!! Give him free ECB membership immediately."

"Give this man a knighthood!" a third quipped.

Avisha Fernando then picked up his fourth wicket of the innings after Wood missed an attempted cut and was bowled, ending a cameo of 22 from 13 balls to make it 348-9.
