James Taylor top scores as England beat India to reach tri-series final against Australia

England beat India by three wickets in Perth to advance to the tri-series final against Australia.

James Taylor top scored with 82 and Jos Buttler blasted 67 as Eoin Morgan's side secured another morale-boosting win ahead of the World Cup.

England, chasing a meagre 201 to win, looked like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory when they stuttered to 66 for five, but Taylor and Buttler led England to within 10 runs of victory, before they both fell in quick succession to leave England nerves jangling once more.

Their dismissals brought Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad to the crease and the pair took England level with India's total before a Ravindra Jadeja no-ball saw England home with 19 balls to spare.

Taylor did his World Cup chances no harm whatsoever with a fine knock that steadied the ship when England were faltering and he was pleased to come to his side's rescue.

"In my eyes I'm always needing to prove a point and secure my spot but first and foremost it was so nice to contribute a match-winning score and I was delighted (to do so)," he said, after the encounter.

"Unfortunately I fell before the finishing line but to get the side over the line was really pleasing."
