T20 Blast round-up: Colin Ingram scores century as Glamorgan beat Sussex

T20 Blast round-up: Colin Ingram scores Glamorgan's fastest ever century in victory over Sussex

Glamorgan v Sussex

A record-breaking century by Colin Ingram at Arundel propelled Glamorgan to their first victory in this season's T20 Blast.

Glamorgan, who were beaten by Hampshire in their opening fixture on Friday, beat Sussex by 18 runs, despite the almost equally-brutal Luke Wright equalling Ingram's score of 101.

Ingram's century was the fastest in the county's history in this competition. He reached his hundred from just 46 balls, and there were eight fours and seven sixes.

He and Jacques Rudolph put on 130 from only 71 balls, a third-wicket record for Glamorgan and their third highest for any wicket.

Durham v Northamptonshire

Ben Duckett's 72 helped champions Northamptonshire home by six wickets with four balls to spare in the repeat of last year's T20 Blast final against Durham at Chester-le-Street.

Chasing the hosts' 161 for seven, Duckett initially struggled to find his timing, despite scooping Chris Rushworth to fine-leg for his only six in the third over.

But the left-hander always seemed to have things under control and it was a surprise when he reverse-swept to point with 29 needed off 3.2 overs. Duckett made his runs off 56 balls, hitting nine fours.

Lancashire v Leicestershire

Three-time champions Leicestershire got their latest T20 Blast campaign off to a winning start by beating Lancashire as they chased down 174 off the last ball at Liverpool.

The Foxes have not qualified out of the North Group since their last success in 2011, but they will be confident of doing so this year having won by three wickets as Colin Ackermann led the way with a measured 62 not out off 41 balls.

The South African even hit the last ball of the match for six with just two needed.

The Lightning, who won their opener at Durham on Friday, posted 173 for nine having been invited to bat, with Liam Livingstone hitting 48 off 33 balls and Jos Buttler 39 off 21.

But visiting captain Clint McKay impressed with three for 29 as Lancashire struggled in the second half of their innings.

Surrey v Somerset

An explosive 81 from 45 balls by Corey Anderson and a dramatic 12-run penalty could not prevent Surrey from squeaking home by four runs in a remarkable T20 Blast match with Somerset at the Kia Oval.

Led by stand-in captain Jade Dernbach, Surrey go top of the embryonic South Group table with two wins from two games, with the run out of Anderson in the final over the key moment in a game which had seemed all over before the award of penalty runs for not bowling the 20 overs in the allotted time.

Kent v Essex

England Lions batsman Daniel Bell-Drummond spanked an unbeaten 90 from 55 balls to steer Kent to a comfortable seven-wicket T20 Blast win over Essex in Beckenham.

Bell-Drummond put his poor Specsavers County Championship form behind him by hitting eight fours and four sixes as Kent eased home with nine balls to spare for their first South Group win of the campaign.

Essex, who lost narrowly in a tight run-chase at home to Surrey on Friday night, were again seriously outgunned and are left looking for their first victory in two starts.
