Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root among four England Test stars released to play in T20 Blast this week

England have made four of their Test squad available in this week's NatWest Blast.

Investec series-winners Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Chris Woakes are free to play for Yorkshire and Birmingham on Friday.

Uncapped Jake Ball can join Nottinghamshire for two Twenty20 fixtures this week and then the Outlaws' Royal London Cup opener next Monday, before rejoining the England squad for the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at Lord's.

Root and Bairstow's availability comes in Yorkshire's Roses clash with Lancashire at Old Trafford, and Woakes can play for the Bears against Durham at Edgbaston.

Pace bowler Ball, who has been in all three Test squads this summer but is yet to make his debut, is set to line up away to Durham on Wednesday, at home to Lancashire on Saturday and finally back at Trent Bridge again to face Northamptonshire.
