City Of Troy
Odds-on for the £700k prize money over this 1m2f contest as part of the British Champions Series, the first of a handful Group 1s of the week.
Since disappointing in the 2000 Guineas, City Of Troy has justified favouritism twice now, including in the Derby winning by nearly three lengths.
That victory was all the more impressive after so many had written him off after the no show over a mile.
But he's exemplified the middle distances and after beating Al Riffa in the Coral-Eclipse he's set to make a huge statement winning three feature Group 1 contests in a row.
Queen Of The Pride
Decent each-way price at this stage of the antepost, considering she will be very short when the declarations rule out a few potential rivals.
She probably hasn't quite shown all of what she's capable of yet but she was that impressive at Haydock to win the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks last month that it's hard to rule her out for such a big step up now.
Her form behind Gather Ye Rosebuds at the start of the year was a sign of her improvement and she's shown that with each run this season and is one to consider for trainers John & Thady Gosden.
Point Lonsdale
Kyprios would have been the bet for this race but he's avoided York once more.
Night Sparkle went well at Goodwood earlier this month behind Term Of Endearment, having shown promise in defeat in listed and group company before.
Gregory is yet to win since his Royal Ascot Queen's Vase success last year, having been seen over a variety of stamina trips this year.
Align The Stars will be given a huge chance in the weights but the three-year-old will need to put in a huge performance to not only win here but gain his fourth-straight win.
Point Lonsdale is just about the favourite ahead of Vauban, despite not being seen over this distance.
However, there is the expectation that he will suit this kind of trip really well and as such might still be a bit of value, as you can never really question Aidan O'Brien's decisions like these.
He was seen over 1m51/2f at Chester in May where he won by over six lengths to Arrest, which really showed his potential for stamina and justifies his price here.
Big Evs
Still only three-years-old this colt trained by Michael Appleby has won Group and listed contests in the US, Royal Ascot, Goodwood, York, and Doncaster.
He's incredibly consistent for a sprinter and only found Asfoora too good at Royal Ascot in June in between a total of four wins.
Beating Asfoora by a short head last time out but could take that tactic and run with it more this time around for another Group 1 success.
Fairbanks
Has some top form coming into this including a neck second to Align The Stars at Goodwood earlier this month, all the while giving away 12lb to the improving three-year-old colt.
He stayed on to beat Oneforthegutter at Newmarket in July and has all the makings of a long distance winner, provided connections and the trainer Andrew Balding opt for this feature race.
There's still 57 runners entered into the contest for the £300,000 prize with many looking to be a great each-way price early on including stablemate Night Sparkle.
