Super League review: A round up of all the action from Friday, May 25

Hull KR moved off the bottom of Super League in stunning fashion as Wigan Warriors  fell flat in the first game since head coach Shaun Wane announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the year.

The Warriors produced their best performance of the season to ease past Warrington at Magic Weekend but they could not match Rovers' intensity as their eight-game winning run ended at KCOM Craven Park.

The shock 24-8 victory represented Rovers' biggest scalp since their return to the top flight.

Warrington Wolves came from 12-0 down at half-time to sweep aside an injury-decimated Hull 30-12 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The Wolves looked to be suffering a hangover from their 38-10 defeat by Wigan at the Magic Weekend when they produced an abject first-half performance against a Hull side denied the services of 10 senior players due to injury and suspension.

But they responded to coach Steve Price's interval pep talk and ran amok against their under-strength visitors, whose first-half heroics gradually took a heavy toll.

The win keeps third-placed Warrington in touch with Betfred Super League pacesetters St Helens and Wigan and opens up a four-point gap between them and the Black and Whites

Three first-half tries from Wakefield laid the platform for a battling 19-6 win over sorry Widnes Vikings who slumped to their eighth defeat in a row.

Chris Chester's side were made to work hard for the two points after a commanding first-half display featuring tries from Pauli Pauli, Tom Johnstone and David Fifita put them well in charge.

But they never hit the afterburners required to pull away from the Vikings who hit back with a try from Pat Ah Van to give them a flicker of hope, however Wakefield just did enough to register their seventh win of the season

New Huddersfield Giants coach Simon Woolford only arrived in England on Friday morning but he was sat in the stand to see them pick up a 24-16 win at Salford in the Betfred Super League.

The Australian, formerly assistant coach at Newcastle Knights, would have been greatly encouraged as the Giants dug deep for a fourth straight victory which saw them leapfrog Salford into the top eight.

Ian Watson's side have now lost their last five games in all competitions but they made a bright start with an early try from centre Junior Sa'u after Daniel Murray had gone close moments earlier. Robert Lui was unable to add the conversion.
