Super League round-up: Hull FC end Wakefield Wildcats' five-match winning run, Hull KR hammer Castleford Tigers

Wakefield Wildcats 28-46 Hull FC

Hull FC burst the bubble of Chris Chester's Wakefield as they secured a sixth win from seven games to move to within two points of the Super League leaders.

Winger Fetuli Talanoa scored four of his side's eight tries as the Black and Whites ended the Wildcats' run of five consecutive league and cup wins under their former player with a 46-28 victory at Belle Vue.

Centre Ashley Gibson scored a first-half hat-trick for the home side as they came from 24-6 down to lead 28-24 but Hull just had too much pace and power as they completed the double following their 22-4 win over the Wildcats in Chester's first game in charge.

Gonig into the game, the Wildcats had won five consecutive matches in all competitions, but they could not muster a victory over the Airlie Birds.

Castleford Tigers 16-58 Hull KR

Albert Kelly inspired Hull KR to only their third Super League win of the season as coach James Webster got the perfect response after his team's shock 36-22 Challenge Cup exit against Oldham.

The mercurial Australian, out of action since the Good Friday derby against Hull, outshone England hopeful Luke Gale as the Robins' redemption victory lifted them above champions Leeds into 10th spot.

Kelly crossed for one of the visitors' 11 tries - which included a hat-trick for centre Thomas Minns - and was directly involved with another five as Webster's squad shrugged off the criticism caused by their home cup knock-out to Championship opposition.

Winger Ken Sio and centre Iain Thornley also grabbed doubles as Hull KR ended a run of six games without victory against Daryl Powell's sloppy home side, who failed to score in the second half.

Rovers led 20-16 at half-time, outscoring their hosts four tries to three. Bidding for a first away win at the Jungle since February 2010, they made a perfect start, scoring with their first set from try line to try line.
