Andy Murray failed to recapture his former glory and Emma Raducanu couldn't follow up her US Open glory down under.

The 34-year-old is a five-time finalist at the Australian Open but was knocked out in a straight-sets defeat to qualifier Taro Daniel.

The Scot was beaten 6-4 6-4 6-4 by the world number 120, who becomes the lowest-ranked player to defeat Murray at a grand slam.

The 31-year-old British number two is competing in his sixth Australian Open and was hoping to beat his career best of reaching the fourth round in a grand slam.

Round 1: won 6-4, 6-3, 6-0 v. David Goffin (BEL, world no.45)

Round 2: Walkover v. Arthur Rinderknech (FRA, world no.48)

Round 3: defeat 6-4 6-1 6-1 v. Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN, world no.9)

Cameron Norrie - Eliminated

The 26-year-old reached the last 32 of the Australian Open last year, but with ATP Tour victories in Mexico and Indian Wells under his belt this early elimination will be a blow.

The 19-year-old was hoping to put in another strong display following her US Open glory at the end of 2021.

But Raducanu was knocked out of the Australian Open in the second round following a three-set defeat to Danka Kovinic.
