Bryan brothers help USA see off British pair

Great Britain will have to wait until Sunday to secure victory over the USA in the Davis Cup after the Bryan brothers beat Dom Inglot and Colin Fleming in their doubles tie.

The dominant male duo were always expected to win this match and swiftly went about doing so as they saw off their British competition 2-6, 3-6, 6-3, 1-6.

It means that the USA now trail their rivals 2-1 in their World Group tie with three further rubbers left for Britain to secure their first victory at this stage in almost 30 years.

Such a triumph is likely to come in Sunday's singles match between Andy Murray and Sam Querrey, with the Scot boasting a five wins out of six against the world number 49.

Bob and Mike raced through the opening set, showcasing all their doubles experience as Inglot, in particular, struggled to get to grips with their play.

They sealed the first with ease as Fleming double faulted but in the second, the British pair started to put up a bit more of a fight.

However, eventually the Bryan brothers used their experience to outmaneuver Inglot and Fleming, as Bob hammered down a wide ace to pick up the second set.

But what appeared to be shaping up as a routine victory was suddenly turned on its head as  the British came out fighting and secured a vital break to move 4-2 up in the third.

It was a lead they didn't relinquish but in the fourth and final set, the world number one doubles team resumed control again and cruised to victory.

But it doesn't mean the USA are out of the woods yet with Murray a comfortable bet to beat Querrey in their singles encounter.
