What are the tie-break rules at the US Open this year? Grand Slam to follow Wimbledon blueprint

The US Open gets underway this week as the huge tournament concludes the 2023 Grand Slams.
Last year saw a major shakeup in the rules regarding tie-breakers after many long matches, and those changes look to be in place for the foreseeable.
The 2022 US Open saw the new regulations introduced for the first time and they are all the same at each of the four Grand Slams.
In the past, players would continue for an indefinite amount of time until someone won by two clear games.
This had seen some mammoth matches happen across the world, including John Isner vs Nicolas Mahut at Wimbledon, which lasted nearly 12 hours and took place over three days.
The longest recorded match at the US Open was significantly less than that, taking 5 hours 26 minutes.
It was contested between Stefan Edberg and Michael Chang in 1992.
But in an attempt to speed up the sport, a new ten-point tie-break has been introduced.
This means that once the final set reaches six games all, the player must win by two clear points to claim the tie-break.
This year's edition of the US Open gets underway on Monday, August 28.
It is set to take place over two weeks, with the women's singles final taking place on Saturday, September 9 and the men's on Sunday, September 10.
It will be held the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York City.
