Daniil Medvedev admitted that he may have to sneakily find a pirate stream to watch the quarter-final between the two Americans.

The 2021 US Open winner bizarrely revealed that he cannot get the tournament in his hotel room TV and may have to resort to finding dodgy streams on his computer.

He told reporters: "I guess in a lot of hotels they have Spectrum, so I cannot watch it on TV anymore.

"But, I don't know if it's legal or illegal, I have to find a way because I cannot watch it on TV.

"I will probably go on a pirate website... I have no other choice!

"At the same time sometimes I want to watch some series, so I'll put it on my phone.

"I watched the [Novak] Djokovic vs [Laslo] Djere and saw it was 2-0 and had to go to sleep. So I will probably watch it if it doesn't go too late."

The all-American showdown between Tiafoe and Shelton will be played on Arthur Ashe Stadium in the night session on Tuesday.

It means there is going to be a guaranteed American in the semi-finals, with a third, Taylor Fritz, facing Novak Djokovic.

Medvedev is through to the final eight himself and takes on Russian compatriot Andrey Rublev for a place in the last four.
