A gold medal is not the only thing that Carlos Alcaraz is looking to add to his collection this summer.

The 21-year-old is preparing to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics, having just defeated Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final to win his second consecutive title.

He will compete in both the singles and the doubles event at Paris 2024 - and his doubles partner will be none other than Spanish tennis icon Rafael Nadal.

But now Alcaraz has revealed that he intends to commemorate success at the Olympics in a very special way.

The Spaniard already has an impressive array of tattoos, commemorating some of his most special achievements so far.

Not only does he have a tattoo of the date '11.09.22' - the date he won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open, he also has a touching tribute to his grandfather on his left wrist.

Three Cs have been inked there, symbolising in Spanish 'cabeza', 'corazon' and 'cojones' - or in English, head, heart and balls - as a reminder to the youngster of the importance of mental strength, spirit and bravery.

His third tattoo has a Wimbledon significance, as he has had a typical strawberry enjoyed by the crowds at the competition immortalised onto his skin.

But Alcaraz is nowhere near done yet.

He already explained back in June that in honour of his first French Open victory, he will have the Eiffel Tower penned onto his left ankle along with the date of his victory.

It came after a picture of a 12-year-old Alcaraz watching the French tournament as a child re-emerged ahead of the competition, showing just how much he had loved it even as a child.

And while he waits to have that tattoo done, Alcaraz has now revealed that there could be one more design on the cards as he looks ahead to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The four-time Grand Slam winner sat down with Spanish media outlet after defending his Wimbledon title to look ahead to his next challenge.

He was asked: "If you climb to the top of the podium in Paris, will you get the Olympic rings?"

Alcaraz replied: "Without a doubt, the rings with the date Paris 24, one hundred percent."

It could end up being his fifth tattoo, if he has managed to get his Eiffel Tower tattoo done by then.

The world number three has had a meteoric rise to success, with only the Australian Open title so far having eluded him in his career.

But he shocked crowds at Wimbledon after his win in the final by admitting that he still did not see himself as a champion in the same bracket as the likes of Djokovic, Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal.

When asked what it would take for him to consider himself in that category, he demonstrated just how humble he is.

"I have had many successes, four majors, many triumphs," he said. "But in the end I consider a champion the legends who have many titles and many 'Grand Slams', whether it is 14, 15, 9, 10.

"I won't consider myself a champion until I have double figures in Grand Slams. At 10, I'll start thinking I'm getting closer to sitting at the same table as them."

It remains to be seen whether the youngster is planning to get a tattoo to commemorate all of his major career successes.

Judging from what he has achieved at such a young age already, he could end up with a lot of tattoos indeed!
