US Open 2024 LIVE: Dates, UK start times, schedule, seeds and how to follow as Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff defend titles

The 2024 US Open gets underway today and Novak Djokovic will be aiming to defend his title in Flushing Meadows.
Djokovic comes into this tournament off the back of achieving the Golden Slam at the Olympics, beating Carlos Alcaraz to claim a gold medal in Paris.
The 24-time Grand Slam winner has completed his dream, but that won’t stop him aiming for another trophy, with Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner among the challengers.
American Coco Gauff won her home event last year to claim her first major victory but she will face the tough task of going back-to-back as Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka eye glory.
The 2024 US Open will begin on Monday, August 26 and come to a close on Sunday, September 8.
It will be held at the iconic USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.
The hard-court surface venue has 22 outdoor courts with an additional 12 practice courts.
The four show courts include the Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, Grandstand and Court 17.

The official singles draw has concluded, and Djokovic starts his title defence against Radu Albot.
World No.1 Jannik Sinner is allowed to compete despite positive test results that showed he had a steroid known as clostebol in his system.
However, he was cleared of any wrongdoing and starts off against Mackenzie McDonald.
Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz kicks off against Australian Li Tu.
In the women's draw, Gauff starts her title defence against Frenchwoman, Vavara Gracheva.
World No.1 Iga Swiatek kicks off her tournament against Kamilla Rakhimova.

Rafael Nadal will not be competing in the US Open this year.
Nadal missed Wimbledon earlier this summer and has played in a limited amount of tournaments this year due to his ongoing injury issues.
He was fit enough to play at the Paris Olympics but has now opted against featuring in Flushing Meadows.
The 22-time Grand Slam winner announced on X: "I have decided not to compete at this year’s US Open a place where I have amazing memories.
"I will miss those electric and special night sessions in NYC at Ashe, but I don’t think I would be able to give my 100% this time.
"Thanks to all my U.S. fans in particular, will miss you all and will see you another time."
Meanwhile, Djokovic wants some clear rules on doping after Sinner avoided a ban.
He said: "As I understood, his case was cleared the moment basically it was announced. But I think five or six months [had] passed since the news [of the positive tests] was brought to him and his team.
"So, yeah, there is a lot of issues in the system.
"We see a lack of standardised and clear protocols. I can understand the sentiments of a lot of players that are questioning whether they are treated the same.
"Hopefully, the governing bodies of our sport will be able to learn from this case and have a better approach for the future. I think collectively there has to be a change."
