Raducanu is hoping that the injuries that have plagued her during the last few years are a distant memory.

However, opponents don't come much tougher than Swiatek, who is the current world No.2 and is a five-time Grand Slam winner.

However, the Australian Open is one tournament triumph that has eluded her in her career so far.

Raducanu vs Swiatek: Head-to-head

The duo have played each other three times, but Raducanu is yet to taste victory against Swiatek.

The Pole has won all of the previous meetings between the pair.

However, this will be the first time they've met at a Grand Slam.

The other meetings happened at the Stuttgart Open in 2024 and 2022, in the quarter-finals both times.

The other encounter took place at the ATP Masters 1000 Indian Wells.

Raducanu is yet to win a set against Swiatek.

Raducanu vs Swiatek: What has been said?

Tennis legend John McEnroe believes that Raducanu can beat Swiatek.

After her win over Amanda Anisimova, he said: “To me, when you play a top player like Iga who’s not as comfortable on hard courts as she is on clay, it’s a good time to play her, when she’s not quite sure of herself.

“Raducanu's making progress but it’ll be a tall order.

"If she’s feeling right, she’ll have a shot at it. It’s good to see her back in the mix.”

Meanwhile, Raducanu is ready to give everything.

"This is a slam that I love playing at so to make it past the second round means a lot to me," said Raducanu.

"It's incredibly difficult whenever you play a friend, it adds another dimension to the match and not necessarily a pleasant one. I think I did a good job. I knew I had to not go away in the second set."

She continued: "It was tricky today, it was a little bit windy, there was sun on one side. Both in patches had some moments with our serve. The way I managed to regroup at the end of the first, I was pretty proud of that.

"It's difficult. I haven't played a match in a very long time. The way I play is pretty athletic, I use my body a lot.

"I was feeling it a little bit but I'm glad I have a little bit of time to recover before my next match. It's another opportunity to test my game. I have nothing to lose. I'm going to give it my best."
