Australian Open: Andy Murray beats Bernard Tomic in straight sets to book quarter-final spot

Andy Murray is into the quarter-finals of the Australian Open for the seventh consecutive year.
The world number two, a four-time runner-up Down Under, beat Bernard Tomic in straight sets to secure his place in the last eight.
Murray needed two-and-a-half hours to see off the challenge of his Australian opponent at a partisan Rod Laver Arena, winning 6-4 6-4 7-6 (7-4).
He will play Spain's David Ferrer in the next round, after the number eight seed had earlier knocked out John Isner in straight sets.
Murray's victory came shortly after fellow Briton Johanna Konta had booked her spot in the quarter-finals of the women's draw.
Further history was made with Murray's win, as he and Konta became the first British man and woman to reach the quarter-finals of the same major since Sue Barker and John Lloyd at the Australia Open in 1977.
Murray's professional display over Tomic was impressive, particulary given the events of the past 48 hours.
The Scot had to rush to the bedside of his father-in-law Nigel Sears after he dramatically collapsed in the stands at the Australian Open on Saturday while watching Ana Ivanovic, the Serbian he coaches.
Sears has since been given the all-clear to fly home.
"The last few days were very tough, a lot of emotions," Murray said.
"Things were changing all the time in my head, it's been a stressful few days.
"It was good to get through today, I'll just try to relax now and get ready for the next one."
