Peter Crouch may have married Abbey Clancy last week, but he's far from the only person in football making vows this summer. In fact, not a day seems to pass without the press reporting that someone in football has "vowed" something or other. Here's just a selection of the latest football vows we found after a quick look online…

 

ANDRE VillaS-BOAS

 

"New Chelsea manager Andre Villas-boas vowed to bring an attack-minded philosophy to Stamford Bridge," according to the Sport Review. 

 

Alex Mcleish

"Villa boss Alex McLeish has vowed to stamp his authority on the squad," says the Express and Star.

 

Ashley Cole

"The 28-year-old has returned to their [his and Cheryl's] marital home in Surrey and he has vowed to change his ways," says The Mirror.

 

Meanwhile, on the football pitch "Cole has vowed to make up for last season's disappointments," according to The Sun.
