WHAT'S THE LATEST NEWS?
Earlier in the week, . Manager Kenny Dalglish recently claimed that if some of his players perform like they did against Bolton, then they will soon find themselves on their way out of Anfield and it doesn't seem like it will be long until Mauricio Isla follows former Udinese star and Chile team-mate Alexis Sanchez out the door.

DID YOU KNOW?

1) Isla made his senior debut for Chile in September 2007, aged 19, three months before he made his first appearance for Udinese.

2) His current club snapped him up following his displays in the 2007 U20 World Cup, where Chile finished third.

3) In the youth side of Universidad Catolica, Isla started as a forward, but due to his height and frame was persuaded to move into defence. At Udinese he has operated as a full-back, defensive midfielder, as well as in the centre-back role.

4) Isla scored his first goal for Chile against Ukraine in 2010 and followed it by scoring the opener against world champions Spain in 2011, though Chile went on to lose 3-2.

5) This season he has three Serie A goals in 17 games to date and has been instrumental in helping his club to third in the league (at time of writing, 26 January 2012), just two behind Milan and three behind table toppers Juventus.

HE SAYS
“I want Buffon in my collection of great goalkeepers I have scored against. I already have [Inter's] Julio Cesar and [Real Madrid's] Casillas amongst others.” A very confident and keen Isla speaks out ahead of his club's clash with Juventus in December 2011
