Proof Wayne Rooney’s BETTER than Pele*

Roy Hodgson has called upon Wayne Rooney to produce his best football, in the style of Pele, when he enters Euro 2012 against Ukraine. "Take Pele for example," said Hodgson before the match, "he was capable of producing his very best football when it mattered to help Brazil win World Cups. We do need that greatness... let's hope that Wayne Rooney can start to do that for us."

Hodgson's mention of Pele and Rooney in the same breath immediately caused some consternation from those who consider it blasphemous to compare the great Brazilian with a mere Englishman.

Yet talkSPORT can reveal - thanks to the Fantasy Football archives, a TV programme devised and produced by our very own Andy Jacobs - that Pele was, in fact, shite.
