Arsenal, United, Liverpool or Chelsea to benefit from the Barca babes that could follow Fabregas to the Premier League?

Spanish football expert Gerry Armstrong told talkSPORT that some of Spain's finest young players from the Barcelona academy have used spells at the Premier League to turn them into the finished article, with Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas both counting their time in England as important stages in their football education. Chelsea's Oriol Romeu is the latest Barcelona protege to move to the Premier League hoping to make a breakthrough in his career, and with La Masia's conveyor belt still churning out brilliant youngsters by the gallon, talkSPORT take a look at the English sides that could benefit from some of Barca's best babes.
Name: Martin Montoya
Age: 21
Position: Right wing back
Honours: Copa del Rey (2012), UEFA Under-21 Football Championship (2011)
Potential destinations: Chelsea
Dani Alves may be Barcelona's man on the right flank, but the Catalans have a ready made replacement for the Brazilian waiting in the wings. Martin Montoya is one of the most highly rated youngsters at Barca B, and he would surely be starting for the Barca first team if Alves wasn't blocking his path. The youngster is so good he became one of few players in the history of the Spanish second division to receive a Spain call-up, forming part of La Roja's squad for a Euro 2012 qualifier against Liechtenstein and a friendly against Chile. Despite his international pedigree, Montoya has found it difficult to gain minutes at the Nou Camp. When called upon he has proven he has what it takes however, as shown when Dani Alves broke his collarbone at the end of last season and Montoya stepped in to replace him in Barca's Copa Del Rey final victory over Athletic Bilbao. The young Catalan is desperate to make it into Spain's starting line-up, and with Alvaro Arbeloa seen as the weak link in La Roja's team, he has the perfect opportunity to do so, but only if he's playing top flight football consistently. In order make the final step he may have to look elsewhere, and where better than Chelsea, who are in need of a quality young right back. The Blues could do a lot worse than to reunite Montoya with his old Barca buddy Oriol Romeu at Stamford Bridge.

Dani Alves is one of a kind, but Martin Montoya comes close...
Name: Rafael 'Rafinha' Alcantara do Nascimento
Age: 19
Position: Attacking midfielder/forward
Honours: Youth Copa del Rey (2011), Spanish Youth League (2011)
Potential destinations: Arsenal, Liverpool
The son of Brazilian World Cup winner Mazinho, and younger brother of Barcelona star Thiago, Rafinha Alcantara's pedigree is as good as it gets. The teenager is considered by many to be even better than his older brother, as he tends to play with less Brazilian flamboyance and is more clinical on the ball. Rafinha has mainly occupied the incredibly challenging 'false nine' role for Barca B in the second division this season, a position notoriously difficult to master that has been made famous by the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Lionel Messi. The attacker made his first team debut in the Copa del Rey on the 9 of November 2011, replacing Cesc Fabregas to play as Barca's false nine. With his older, more experienced brother still unable to break into Barca's starting lineup however, it's unlikely that Rafinha will do so in the near future. For the promising forward to become the finished article he could be tempted to look elsewhere, and the time spent by Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal could be a source of inspiration, as Arsene Wenger has shown he knows how to develop Barca's youngsters on the cusp of brilliance into top flight professionals. Anfield may be another option, as Rafinha is exactly the kind of player Brendan Rodgers will be looking for in his Anfield revolution.

Rafinha Alcantara has all the skill you would expect from a Brazilian raised in Catalonia...
Name: Sergi Gomez
Age: 20
Position: Central defender
Honours: Spanish Supercup (2010), Spanish Youth League (2011)
Potential destinations: Tottenham
Sergi Gomez has shown maturity well beyond his years during his promising time at Barcelona. Despite only completing his first full season with Barca B last year, Gomez had already played a part in Barca's Spanish Supercup win in 2010 as an 18 year old, while still a member of Barcelona's youth ranks at the time. Known for his brilliant positional play and ability when bringing the ball out from the back, the defender is one of the candidates to help fill the gap left by Carles Puyol when he eventually retires. His height and aerial ability make him difficult to beat and equally dangerous from set-pieces. Despite his part in the 2010 Supercup win, Gomez has struggled to make a case for himself in the first team due to Javier Mascherano's conversion into a brilliant centre half. Tottenham have already made clear their desire to sign young, mobile central defenders with good technical qualities, and after Andre Villas-Boas was spotted watching Barca B games last season, you can guarantee the new Spurs boss is aware of Gomez's talent.

Sergi Gomez is equally good on the ball as off it...
Name: Gerard Deulofeu
Age: 18
Position: Forward
Honours: UEFA U-19 Championship (2011), Spanish Youth League (2011), Youth Copa del Rey (2011)
Potential destinations: Manchester United
Alongside Montoya and Rafinha, Gerard Deulofeu is one of the gems of Barcelona's B team. Deulofeu exploded into stardom during his first full season in the second division last year, playing 34 games and finishing as Barca B's top scorer. The forward also impressed on his first team debut, replacing David Villa against Mallorca in October 2011. His dribbling skills have gained him the reputation as the most dangerous player in the Barca B ranks, and having already led the goal-scoring charts for his team at the age of 18, his future looks bright. Despite all of his promise however, he's unlikely to make many appearances for the first team next season, with at least seven senior players capable of playing in his position. Manchester United are looking sparse in their forward ranks following Michael Owen's exit and the likely departure of Dimitar Berbatov, so the chance to make an impact from the bench at Old Trafford would be hard for the youngster to resist. Deulofeu certainly has all of the qualities to succeed at any top side should they come calling.

Name: Sergi Samper
Age: 17
Position: Midfielder
Potential destinations: Manchester City, Arsenal
As talkSPORT detailed here, Manchester City have shown an interest in bringing the midfielder dubbed Barcelona's 'next Xavi' to the Etihad this summer. It's easy to see why, as at the age of 17 Sergi Samper has impressed as one of Barca's stand-out players against the likes of City and Marseille in the NextGen series last season. Samper has been told he won't be part of Barca's B new squad for 2012-12, and he will have to remain in their top youth side, a baffling decision considering his maturity and potential. Barcelona could be made to pay as a result, as the youngster is thought to be frustrated with this blow to his aspirations, and City are ready to offer him the perfect road out. Arsenal have already had a move for him rejected in 2011, so don't discount the Gunners returning to challenge City for this young pass-master's services.
