The Premier League’s penalty king since 2006/07 REVEALED

Wayne Rooney's ballooned penalty against West Ham on Wednesday night means the Man United striker has now missed two of his last four spot-kicks. His latest penalty nightmare could be the last time the England international takes a meaningful effort in a red shirt, with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson telling MUTV: “I don't think it is just one of those things. I think we have to improve at that.”

Fergie pointed to the spot-kick exploits of Southampton's Rickie Lambert, who's scored 31 out of 31 in all competitions, and Matt Le Tissier's astonishing record of scoring 47 out of 48 in his whole career. With that in mind, we thought we'd ask our friends at Opta who is the Premier League's penalty king in recent times.

To ensure a fair result, we looked at all players who have taken five or more Premier League penalties, going back to the 2006/07 season and here's the result.
