‘Evil person’ Ja’Marr Chase wanted to ‘disrespect’ Jaguars with touchdown celebration in Bengals’ win

Ja’Marr Chase woke up feeling evil.
Chase, a star wide receiver for Cincinnati, torched the Jacksonville Jaguars for 11 catches and 149 yards during the Bengals' 34-31 road win in overtime on Tuesday.
His thrilling 76-yard touchdown connection with former backup quarterback Jake Browning was a highlight for the Bengals, who improved to 6-6 to keep their playoff hopes alive in the AFC.
But there was a special reason that Chase toyed with the Jaguars on his way to the end zone.
"I said I was gonna do some a***** s*** — excuse my profanity,†Chase after the game. “I was going to be a jerk today. ... I just felt like being an evil person.â€
Browning, who threw for 354 yards, initially wondered why Cincy's star wideout was turning around with a Jaguar within reach.

It was all planned by Chase.
“He said it was because he was being disrespectful," Browning said.
While Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said that his new QB "lit the world on fire," Chase also burnt the Jaguars on a painful night when Jacksonville watched franchise QB Trevor Lawrence go down with an ankle injury and require help getting off the field.
The 76-yard TD to Chase helped ignite the Bengals in a near must-win for Cincinnati, who is playing without star QB Joe Burrow.

"He’s (Chase) so hard to bring down," Taylor said. "Anytime you get the ball in his hands, it’s stressful for the defense.â€
Browning perfectly set up Chase on the 76-yard TD.
As soon as the ball was in the receiver's hands, he turned on the burners and sprinted toward the end zone.
Then Chase intentionally slowed down just to flaunt his big score in the Jaguars' face.
"Straight man. No help,†said Chase, referring to Jacksonville's coverage decision.
He woke up feeling evil then ensured that the Jaguars knew how bad of a man he was.
Cincinnati hosts Indianapolis on Sunday.
The Bengals are in last place in the AFC North but could string together enough late-season wins to earn a playoff berth, especially with Chase torching opposing defenses.
