Chelsea transfer latest: the Sporting Lisbon winger in talks with the Blues

After reports from Portugal claimed that Cheslea are in talks with talented Sporting Lisbon youngster Bruma, a former transfer target of Man City, talkSPORT's Talent Spotter finds out more about the 18-year-old...

Name: Armindo Tue Na Bangna (known as 'Bruma')
Club: Sporting Lisbon
Date of birth: 24/10/1994
Born: Bissau, Republic of Guinea-Bissau
International: Capped at Portugal U16, 17, 18, 19, 20 level

What's the latest?
Bruma, the latest player to land the tag of the 'next Cristiano Ronaldo', has been coveted by Premier League clubs in the past, with both Chelsea and Man City considering making an offer for him in 2010. Since then his steady progress has continued, and after starring for Portugal's U20 side at the World Cup, Chelsea are said to be close to completing an £8m transfer.

The nitty gritty:
1) Bruma is the younger brother of Fulham youth player Buomesca Tue Na Bangna, better known as 'Mesca', who previously played in Chelsea's youth academy.

2) Though he was born in the African Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Bruma is a naturalised Portuguese citizen and qualifies for their national team as a result.

3) The forward was brought to Sporting from agent Catio Baldé's football school in Guinea in 2007, and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2010.

4) The player has admitted he likes to copy Cristiano Ronaldo's playing style, while his skill and shooting ability combined with his pace are reminiscent of the former Manchester United man.

5) Bruma's squad number at Sporting is 51, in keeping with their penchant for high numbers, with the squad ranging from 19 to 99 and he was given his full debut in February in a 1-0 defeat to Maritimo.

What is being said?
He says:

“The foreign interest in me goes over my head. All I think about is the work that I need to put in each day in order to represent the Sporting first team, that's my only objective”
