Paul Heyman SCREWS Brock Lesnar and returns to Roman Reigns as Bobby Lashley wins WWE championship at Royal Rumble

Roman Reigns cost Brock Lesnar the WWE title at the Royal Rumble with a little help from Paul Heyman.
Heyman had returned as Lesnar’s advocate after he won the WWE title at Day 1 on New Year’s Day and he was ‘fired’ by Reigns just weeks before that as his special counsel.
However, after Reigns retained his Universal title despite losing his encounter with Seth Rollins via disqualification, The Tribal Chief interfered during Lesnar’s contest with Bobby Lashley.
Reigns hit Lesnar with a spear and then held his hand out to motion for Lesnar’s WWE title.
Heyman gladly handed Reigns the belt and The Big Dog proceeded to smash Lesnar with it creating an opening for Lashley to get the 1-2-3 and become a two-time WWE champion.
It’s been widely reported that Reigns and Lesnar are on a collision course for WrestleMania and it seems that after diverting the course briefly at Day 1 when Reigns wasn’t able to appear, that plan has now resumed.
It’s been a long running story with Heyman in the middle of Reigns and Lesnar.
Heyman accompanied Lesnar when The Beast burst onto the scene back in 2002 but by the end of the year, he would turn on Lesnar and side with The Big Show, costing Lesnar the WWE title in the process.
Once Lesnar returned to the WWE in 2012, Heyman resumed his services and Lesnar quickly became one of the most dominant forces in the business again.
Lesnar has faced Reigns several times since returning, including at both WrestleMania 31 and 34. With Lesnar on hiatus from WWE in 2020, Heyman finally aligned with Reigns, a member of the Anoaʻi family that Heyman has worked with for decades.
Since Lesnar finally returned at SummerSlam 2021, the question has remained where Heyman’s loyalties lay and for the first time, it’s clear they are with Reigns and Reigns only.
