WWE weekend news round up; WWE bringing back old titles? Lana and Rusev get hitched and Finn says goodbye to NXT

Having kicked-off the first week of the new brand extension with the introduction of the new Universal Title, it now looks like that may not be the only new strap we see on WWE television.

It seems WWE are testing the waters with the WWE Universe with a poll on WWE.com asking which now defunct titles fans would like to see return. Giving the choice of the Hardcore Championship, European Championship, World Tag Team Championship, Women’s Tag Team Championship or the Cruiserweight title.

Often these polls are just a frivolous bit of fun, however with the tag titles exclusive to one brand as well as the cruiserweight division set to be part of Monday Night Raw, there could be some ammo in this poll with a view of adding new belts to the two brands.

A huge congratulations to WWE superstars Rusev and Lana, who officially tied the knot on Friday. The real-life Alexander Rusev and CJ Perry wed in Malibu, California and a number of WWE faces were present for the ceremony including Nikki and Brie Bella, Renee Young, The Miz and Ryback.

The wedding will be part of season six of Total Divas, in which Lana is set to debut as a cast member when it begins later this year. The happy couple along with WWE.com posted several pictures from the big day across social media, which can check out below.

After a Monday Night Raw that Finn Balor and most of the WWE Universe will never forget, the SummerSlam main eventer said his final goodbyes to NXT on Sunday evening.

The Irishman, who will battle WWE’s number one draft pick Seth Rollins later this month for the Universal Championship, wrestled his final match for the developmental brand at a live show in Houston, Texas. Teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura to defeat Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode in the show’s main event of the evening. However, the going away party didn’t end there as Bayley hit the ring post-match to give Balor a well-deserved hug and thank him for his hard work across his two years in NXT. Bayley also brought out recently drafted stars Nia Jax, Mojo Rawley and Carmella to congratulate them on their recent elevation to the main roster.

Balor eneded the celebration by taking to the mic and thanking both the NXT fans and Matt Bloom, for his work at the WWE Performance Center.
