Conor McGregor is one step closer to making his debut in a professional wrestling ring after the UFC star’s agent invited WWE to ‘show him the money’.

Gobby ace McGregor has unleashed a volley of verbal jabs in the direction of WWE’s performers in recent months, including blasting veteran headliner John Cena for being a ‘failed bodybuilder’.

The UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion also riled up fans and wrestlers on social media after slamming WWE’s performers as “messed up p******†in August.

And although the 28-year-old Dubliner has previously scoffed at the idea of lacing up wrestling boots, it seems his agent may have noted WWE boss Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque’s attempts at publicly wooing motormouth Conor.

"I think it's all about business, man," McGregor’s representative Audie Attar said on an episode of the Five Rounds podcast .

"If [WWE] is going to come with an offer, we are willing to entertain it. We are here. Have their people call his people - which is me. We can have a conversation."

Levesque recently hailed McGregor as the perfect candidate to make the move over from the Octagon to the squared circle.

"He could come over, he's got it all, man," he told the Telegraph.

"He's got the personality, the skills, the talk. He's an entertainer, for sure.â€

McGregor would most likely walk into next April’s Wrestlemania in Orlando, Florida as the event’s main attraction. But an official announcement in the near future is unlikely, with the charismatic fighter taking a break after announcing his girlfriend is set to give birth to their first child in May.

UFC chief Dana White said: "He won’t fight before May. His girl gets super stressed out when he fights. He doesn’t want her having any of that stress while she’s pregnant.

"He’s good. He should take time off. He’s been fighting non-stop. Nothing wrong with him taking time off. It’s good for him and her and it’s good for the baby."
