‘We’re not competing in Mr Olympia’ – Sheamus defended by WWE star Drew McIntyre after body shamers mock return

WWE star Drew McIntyre hit out at cruel trolls for brutally body-shaming close pal Sheamus following his return to the ring.
The Celtic Warrior made a heroic comeback from a near-career-ending injury this week but it was marred by a social media backlash.
Sheamus had spent nine months on the sidelines with a shoulder injury since August when he faced Edge (AKA Adam Copeland).
The Dubliner made a triumphant return on Monday Night RAW by squashing Ivar in Canada sporting new gear to match a fresh look.
However, Sheamus was forced to hit back at fans online who claimed that the former world champion wasn’t looking his best.
The 46-year-old explained that he'd returned to WWE earlier than intended, and has already employed a rigorous workout routine to return to top shape.
During an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, his friend McIntyre stated that was unnecessary as he believes he already looks great.
On Sheamus' public response to trolls, McIntyre said: "He responded. He didn't have to, he shouldn't have to.
"He's proven who he is, he's got a Hall of Fame career and I'm sure he doesn't love me saying it but he's 46 and he's still going which is unbelievable.
"I don't know how anybody can say anything negative, he looks like a big nasty bruiser."
McIntyre underwent a dramatic body transformation that started with his own serious injury - a broken neck sustained in 2016.
He added to talkSPORT: "It's not like we're competing in Mr Olympia or anything, to me, it was like you look like the next evolution of Sheamus to me. Just big and mean and a bruiser.
"It's the internet, people will say dumb stuff but I told him, I didn't like the shorts so much I preferred the trunks but I liked the way he looked.
"He just looks big, nasty impressive to me - just beating people up.
"He responded and then he did come back regular but perhaps not as intended to. But, nonetheless, I still think he looks awesome."
Sheamus remains one of WWE’s most decorated stars during his 15-year journey on the main roster.
The grappler has held all of the company’s top male titles with the exception of the Intercontinental championship.
