One of Paul's key objectives when setting out on his career in combat sports was to compete at Madison Square Garden, the iconic New York venue.

He successfully completed exactly that, taking on Santos Escobar and L.A. Knight in a Money In The Bank qualifying match on the latest episode of WWE Smackdown which was held in the venue.

Unfortunately for Paul, he fell to a brutal defeat after being pinned by Knight, and he has showed fans the damage he sustained on social media.

He posted a picture of hand marks on his chest from the tough battle on Instagram, with the caption: "Perform at Madison Square Garden. Tick."

Paul now currently holds the United States Championship belt, and is expected to make a defence of it against conqueror Knight at this year's SummerSlam.

It has been a hugely successful career for the current WWE champion, who has used his huge social media following to leverage a place on some huge events.

He also famously fought boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in a money-spinning exhibition in June 2021.

There appears to be no limits to what the high-profile star can achieve, and he has even teased a potential appearance in the UFC.

Paul called out Paddy Pimblett, but any appearance has yet to materialise despite positive conversations with UFC president Dana White.
