Raw results 13/2 – Festival of Friendship ends on a sour note, but the night’s sweet for Bayley

Raw's festival of friendship didn't go to plan

It had been billed as a celebration, a fiesta, and a party like no other but the Festival of Friendship ended in disaster for Chris Jericho.

With dancing girls, show-time music and Jericho wearing his flashiest hat and coat yet, the festival was given the full Vegas treatment as Y2J went all out for best friend Kevin Owens. He presented the WWE Universal Champion with a specially made sculpture and a ghastly painting depicting Jeri-KO as Adam and Eve as well as bringing out Gillberg, before declaring his love and brotherhood for Owens. Owens then surprised Jericho with a present of his own; what looked like a new list. However, on closer inspection the graphics read ‘List of KO’ and there was only one name on it - Chris Jericho. With that realization, Owens attacked his best friend with a vicious beatdown that saw Y2J powerbombed on the apron, thrown through a TV screen and eventually leave the arena in an ambulance. Perhaps Owens little chat with Triple H earlier in the night sparked the assault, but it looks like we’ve seen the end of Raw’s favourite friendship.

The night was main evented by the WWE Raw’s Women’s Championship bout between Charlotte Flair and Bayley. Outdoing their Royal Rumble encounter, Bayley took a nasty bump onto her neck early on in the match and was aggravated by yet another standout moonsault from Charlotte off the barricade. Dana Brooke then returned to try to assist Flair, but only succeeded in distracting the ref while Sasha Banks hit the champion with her crutch allowing Bayley to hit the Belly-to-Bayley, and claim her first ever Women’s main roster title.

Samoa Joe continued his tirade on the Raw roster, when after an intimidating sit-down interview with Michael Cole where he used Sami Zayn as an example of someone just ‘happy to be there’, he brutally attacked Zayn. The Canadian had just notched up a win over Rusev, when his retort to Joe - calling him a sell-out - saw the Destroyer hit the stage with a series of blows to Zayn. Finishing him off by choking him out on the middle of the stage.

Elsewhere Roman Reigns opened the show by demanding Braun Strowman; but instead he met Gallows and Anderson in handicapped action - although he did finally get his hands on the ‘Monster of Men’ following Strowman’s win over Mark Henry. There were also wins for Jack Gallagher and Akira Tozawa in Cruiserweight action and we finally saw the debut of Emmalina.
