Hulk Hogan is no stranger to Madison Square Garden.

The professional wrestling veteran had more than 130 matches at the iconic New York City venue over the course of his in-ring career, and returned on Sunday evening for a different reason.

Hogan was a surprise guest at Donald Trump’s election rally, and made his way onto stage in front of 20,000 people dressed in his iconic "Hulkamania"; wrestling outfit.

His "Real American" theme song also blasted out in the arena as he waved around the US flag.

The 71-year-old then attempted his trademark routine of ripping off his tank top, but despite doing so countless times over the years, 'The Hulkster' seriously struggled to pull it from his chest.

Hogan eventually got the better of the shirt and when he finally ripped it in two, he revealed a Trump top underneath and continued to dance around.

Unsurprisingly, the moment soon went viral, with many on social media mocking his struggles.

"Bro was fighting for his life to rip that shirt," one person wrote.

"Things are going great over at the Trump Madison Square Garden rally. Hulk Hogan is struggling to tear off his shirt," a third concluded.

Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, referenced his wrestling career as he addressed the crowd.

"Let me tell you something 'Trumpamaniacs' welcome to the house that Hulkamania built," he began referencing his success as the legendary venue.

"Usually when I'm in Madison Square Garden, I'm body-slamming giants, I'm winning world heavyweight titles and cracking people over the head with steel chairs.

Hogan is not the first former wrestler to be seen alongside Trump in recent weeks.

The former president was also recently on The Undertaker's podcast, where he made a bold claim on The Rock’s reaction to his assassination attempt.

"I never thought he liked me, and I felt badly because I think he’s a terrific guy," Trump recalled.

“Then Dana White said, when I was shot… Rock called Dana and said: ‘I want to have his number… what he did is sort of incredible.’

“He considered it bravery."
