SmackDown Live results 30/5 – SmackDown Women set to make history once again

It's another history making moment for the women of WWE

SmackDown Live will host the first ever women’s Money In The Bank at next month’s pay-per-view Shane McMahon announced on last night’s blue brand show.

The five contenders to Naomi’s SmackDown Women’s title had been set for a Five-way Elimination Match to determine a new number one contender. However, all hell broke loose before the match could even begin, as the girls brawled ringside, resulting in Charlotte power-bombing Natalya through table and the Queen of WWE hitting another expert moonsault on to the outside and a waiting Tamina and Nattie. Without a winner it was left to Shane McMahon to find a solution, and that solution is the first ever women’s Money In The Bank bout at next month’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view.

MITB was the recurring theme of the night, with the male competitors bookending the show. The night kicked-off with Kevin Owens’ Highlight Reel and guest Shinsuke Nakamura. Yet before WWE’s Rockstar could speak the pair were interrupted by Baron Corbin and soon SmackDown’s newest star found himself on the end of a two-on-one beatdown. Sami Zayn soon came to his aid and it set up a tag-team match between the two pairings that saw Zayn and Nakamura pick up the win.

At the other end of the show, in the evenings main event Dolph Ziggler pulled off a somewhat surprising victory over hometown hero AJ Styles thanks to a vicious superkick.

Elsewhere Randy Orton promised to take his WWE Title back off Jinder Mahal at next month’s Money In The Bank, The New Day made their SmackDown debut to inform The Usos that they will be their next challengers to the SmackDown Tag Team straps, and Breezango continued to fool their opponents with a selection of disguises as they beat The Colons.
