WWE: Zack Sabre Jr teases linking up with Finn Balor in NXT

British star Zack Sabre Jr has added his social media voice to the chorus of independent wrestlers raising fan hopes over the formation of a faction with Finn Balor in NXT.

Techical standout Zack, 28, tweeted a snap of himself wearing pal Finn’s WWE merchandise and mimicking Balor’s ‘Bullet Club’ hand signal - recently taken up again on live events by the former New Japan star in NXT - with a toy gun this afternoon, teasing: "You still recruiting mate?â€

The Kent-born star is in Orlando, Florida appearing for EVOLVE alongside NXT regulars Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano this weekend - with last night’s show attended by NXT chief Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, scout and on screen general manager William Regal. Regal also appeared in front of the crowd as part of an angle with Timothy Thatcher and former UFC middleweight Matt Riddle.

In October, Sabre Jr was hailed as as a ‘top, elite talent’ by EVOLVE head honcho Gabe Sapolsky in comments distributed across WWE’s digital and social media, suggesting the lithe grappler is on WWE’s radar.

He won over legions of new fans in the States last year as he clinched on-trend promotion PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles summer tournament honour and is one of Balor’s partners in merchandise venture SPLX.

Anderson, 36 - who has worn IWGP tag gold with current partner Gallows, as well as NXT head coach Matt Bloom - and Styles have also hinted at making the switch, with Styles responding similarly to a post by WWE talisman John Cena of his youthful face.

Meanwhile, Styles, Anderson and Gallows shared a 'curtain call’ moment with the Young Bucks during a Ring of Honor live event in Georgia last night, taking off the infamous 1996 character-breaking hug in Madison Square Garden between the members of backstage gang the Kliq as Diesel and Razor Ramon finished up in the then-WWF to head to WCW.
