WWE Extreme Rules: Fans are furious after Finn Balor loses Intercontinental title to Shinsuke Nakamura

Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura battle over the IC title on the preshow and that's quite fitting given Finn's reign

Finn Balor captured his first title on the main roster in WWE when he won the Intercontinental title from Bobby Lashley earlier this year.

At WrestleMania, he won it back from the Almighty and then moved over to SmackDown Live.

However, since May, he has only been seen on TV - let alone competed - twice and now he has lost his Intercontinental title to Shinsuke Nakamura at Extreme Rules.

Nakamura has barely been on TV himself after wallowing in a tag team with Rusev for the better part of 2019.

Suddenly, he has earned himself a title shot and then captured said title to leave fans wondering what is going on with Balor, who turns 38 in two weeks.

It's no wonder fans are upset with Balor's run with one of the company's most prestigious belts considering he couldn't even get on TV with it.

Nakamura is heading towards the end of his WWE contract and this could be a similar play from WWE like when they gave The Revival their first tag team title run earlier this year.

For Balor, fans are now hoping that he will finally reunite with AJ Styles and complete The Club alongside the Good Brothers.
