Becky Lynch upsets the bookmakers to defeat Sasha Banks in violent Hell in a Cell scrap labelled ‘Match of the Year’

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks kicked off Hell in a Cell on Sunday with the namesake match and they set an extremely high bar for the rest of the show.

One-half of the Four Horsewomen collided inside the Devil's Playground with the Raw Women's title on the line, but it was the champion Lynch who would retain after locking in the Dis-Arm-Her.

Banks had been on a hot streak heading into the pay-per-view and many fans had expected her to walk out as the champion - certainly, the bookmakers did.

Regardless of the result, the two women put on a truly violent, brutal match that will immediately be regarded as one of the great all-time cell matches.

That included two separate spots where the ladies took chair shots to the head in creative ways - something that is outlawed in WWE.

Fans have been praising the bout on Twitter as perhaps the best women's match this year, maybe best match regardless of gender.

With the draft starting on the next episode of SmackDown next Friday, this might be the last time these two lock up for a while.

Lynch's reign as Raw Women's champion is now sitting at around six months.
