WWE NXT beats AEW in the wrestling ratings war for the first time after losing seven weeks in a row

The WWE and AEW Wednesday Night Wars have been a breath of fresh air for wrestling and it has driven both NXT and Dynamite to put on great shows every week.
For the first seven weeks, AEW defeated NXT in the ratings and the brand-new company made a brilliant start to life competing with the big guns.
However, the ratings are now out for week eight and WWE have finally put one on the scoreboard.
As you can see from the tweet below, WWE did just short of a million viewers on Wednesday.
As the tweet reads, WWE did stack the show with main roster talents like Becky Lynch, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins and Triple H suggested that some huge names would be on board beforehand.
NXT delivered and then some on that promise and the in-ring action was pretty sensational, too.
AEW delivered a very good show themselves and nothing should be taken away from what they have accomplished thus far.
This was the go-home NXT show before War Games on Saturday and Survivor Series on Sunday, meaning it was the culmination of the invasion angle that fans have so richly enjoyed.
The real test will be in the numbers next week when normal service has resumed.
