Former star Ryback says Vince McMahon and Triple H ‘f***ing hated’ Goldberg when he worked for WWE

Many people were struggling to understand the logic behind putting the Universal title on Goldberg last week.
While fans were left scratching their heads at why WWE would have 53-year-old Goldberg squash the most carefully constructed character in a decade, it's not only them who were left thinking that way.
The idea behind moving the belt to Goldberg is so that Roman Reigns gets a positive reaction when he potentially wins the title at WrestleMania 36.
It's generally believed Reigns would struggle to get such a positive reception were he to beat the popular Fiend, something Seth Rollins found out the hard way himself.
Still, did it need Goldberg to come back to carry the belt?
Former WWE superstar Ryback - a man regularly subjected to Goldberg chants himself - cannot understand it either.
Speaking on his recent podcast, Ryback said Vince McMahon and Triple H used to hate Goldberg.
"We've seen this when they don't want any more marquee names," said Ryback. "They will take it away when they need to take it away to prevent that. That is what scares me.
"The Fiend is not in that circle of talent – he never has been and he never will be. There's no rhyme or reason who gets put into that circle, but I don't think he's ever been in it.
"I think you need to book him [the Fiend] strong for a longer period of time.
"The Bill Goldberg stuff confuses me. I'm honestly baffled because they f***ing hated him while I was there – Hunter and Vince. I wasn't allowed to f***ing talk about him.
"What's changed with that where now they've put the title on him twice?"
It's a good question, but the answer is probably money.
"If I was there full-time, I would be f***ing pissed," added Ryback. "I'm sure all of the boys are at another guy coming in and taking your WrestleMania spot.
"You whore yourself out all year and then they give the big paydays to the people who aren't holding the company up. That's not a knock on Bill as they do it on all of the past guys."
