EXCLUSIVE: WWE legend Ric Flair says Triple H deserves everyone’s respect for two reasons

WWE legend Ric Flair believes Triple H's work outside of the ring, as well as inside, deserves respect.

The Game had one of the most decorated careers before entering semi-retirement and, with him at the helm, the company's NXT brand has gone from a small developmental project to a genuine third brand for WWE, alongside RAW and SmackDown.

"Triple H, from the first time I met him, he's been not only an unbelievably good performer, but he's been very smart," Flair told talkSPORT.

"When given the opportunity, however it came about, to contribute to the creative side of the business, he's been a huge asset.

"His work in the ring is second to none and as an asset to the brain trust, the creative end of it, orchestration, he's a huge part of that as well. And he deserves a lot of respect for both."

The WWE Performance Centre in Orlando - the home of NXT talent - held this year's WrestleMania and 27 of the 44 wrestlers on the card came through NXT, including Drew McIntyre, who beat Brock Lesnar to become the first British-born WWE champion.

Flair's daughter, Charlotte, is another who has come through and many, including her dad, believe she is already the greatest female wrestler of all-time.

“People are going to say I’m biased, but she’s the female [Randy] Orton. Younger, less time in the business, but she’s picked it up.

“The art of being able to make somebody look good and make the match the priority rather than what you are capable of doing or not doing is what separates the good from the great. She’s been in that conversation as the greatest ever since, I think, since [WrestleMania 32 in 2016] Dallas.

The talent Triple H has brought to NXT and the quality of their TakeOver events has seen the brand grow exponentially over the past few years.

They now have a UK arm of the brand, NXT UK, and a TV deal with the USA Network in the States, the same home as Monday Night Raw.
