After a stellar first night of action at WrestleMania 37, night two kicked off with Randy Orton and The Fiend.

The match began with an amazing entrance for The Fiend. First of all he appeared in his burned form, but once he emerged from a Jack in a Box that Alexa Bliss unwound, Wyatt was the fully healthy Fiend once again.

The match was fairly short. Wyatt controlled the vast majority and it followed the typical traits of previous Fiend outings, including the dreaded red lighting.

After subduing Orton with the Mandible Claw, The Fiend followed that up with Sister Abigail and it seemed as though it was an open and shut case.

However, Bliss appeared on top of the Jack in a Box and a black liquid - possibly oil? - started leaking from her head, distracting The Fiend. She reached out to him and Wyatt did to her, but that gave Orton the chance to land the RKO and pick up the victory.

For The Fiend to lose to just one finisher is previously unheard of. Orton quickly made is exit with Bliss and The Fiend just gazing at each other. Did something go wrong? Did she cost him the match? Fans in the stadium and around the world were very, very confused.

This story had months and months of build up, but the story actually goes back four or five years.

Randy Orton infiltrated the Wyatt Family and won the Tag Team titles with Bray Wyatt - who, of course, is The Fiend - but ultimately turned on him and took his WWE title from him at WrestleMania 33.

Oh, and he burned Wyatt’s house down during this period of time.

Years later, The Fiend was born to right all the wrongs that had transpired against Wyatt during his WWE run and he set about conquering his old rivals. With Orton thus far, he has been unable to do that.

During the latest chapter of their feud, Orton actually burned Wyatt to literal death at Tables, Ladders and Chairs and we didn’t see The Fiend for four months. Save for Orton coughing up some tar from time to time, it’s been completely one way traffic and the story looks like it is not done just yet.
