Bray Wyatt released by WWE as former world champion becomes another high-profile departure with Alexa Bliss ‘lost for words’

Bray Wyatt has been released by WWE.
The three-time world champion was last seen on WWE television when he lost to Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37 in April.
On Saturday, a brief statement read: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Bray Wyatt.
“We wish him the best in all his future endeavours.”
During Wyatt’s 12-year stint with the company, Vince McMahon had been accused of misusing the 34-year-old’s talents.
Wyatt formed the famous ‘Wyatt Family’ and fought big stars such as Orton, John Cena and The Undertaker at different WrestleManais.
After a nine-month hiatus, Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, returned to WWE with a new character, The Fiend, in The Firefly Fun House in April 2019.
And it looked as though WWE had finally struck gold with Wyatt becoming one of the most over wrestlers in the world due to his new gimmick.
Alexa Bliss, who worked closely with Wyatt over the past year, expressed her shock at the release on social media.
She wrote: “I really am at a loss for words… thank you so much Windham for everything you’ve done for this company.
“The most fun I’ve had is working with you. Such an amazing talent & the most kind person. I’m just in shock.”
Wyatt joins a list of wrestlers who have been released by WWE during the coronavirus pandemic with the likes of Aleister Black, Braun Strowman, Rusev and more talent leaving the company.
