Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk now set for February 2024 after Francis Ngannou scare

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk is now being planned for February 2024, talkSPORT sources understand.

The undisputed heavyweight world title fight was initially supposed to be officially announced after Fury's clash with Francis Ngannou on Saturday night.

A date of December 23 was ready to be confirmed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

However, things did not exactly go to plan.

Fury was unable to walk through his debutant opponent as expected and instead found himself drawn into a battle.

The Gypsy King was floored in round three, hurt in round eight, and scraped through the ten round contest.

In the end, he emerged victorious via controversial split decision.

Usyk looked horrified watching from ringside in round three as Fury was knocked down.

He even started shouting advice to his rival to help him get through the fight.

When the decision was announced, the Ukrainian breathed a sigh of relief and then entered the ring for a face-off with Fury.

There was no official confirmation for December 23 though, as the Brit's team insisted their man would need more time to recover from the gruelling bout.

talkSPORT sources understand that Fury vs Usyk is now being planned for February 17.

The venue will be the same as that for Fury vs Ngannou - the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
