Deontay Wilder’s trainer says he is at his ‘decapitation’ weight at weigh-in for Joseph Parker fight

Deontay Wilder has warned Joseph Parker that if he fights on the front foot in their bout he will quickly say 'goodnight'.

The two men are ready to go head-to-head in the ring, as they weighed-in on Friday night.

Parker tipped the scales at 245.3lbs, while Wilder weighed-in at 213lbs, which is around the same weight he was in his last fight when he brutally knocked out Robert Helenius in the first round.

And Wilder's trainer, Malik Scott, is convinced that this is the ideal weight for his fighter, as he said: "Joseph has the perfect style for Deontay to look spectacular against tomorrow and that's what he's gonna do.

"Deontay weighed 213lbs. This is the weight where he gives out his most decapitation work and tomorrow isn't going to be any different."

As for Wilder, he is nice and relaxed just a day out from the fight, and said: "I'm calm and collected.

Eddie Hearn rips into Deontay Wilder after public workout and says he does not rate it as a boxer

"I've been here many times before. I've fought his style before, but he's never fought a style like mine.

"He's never felt the power that I bring and possess."

With that being said, Wilder's power does not seem to be a deterrent for Parker, who has promised to be aggressive.

"We're here, we're ready and I can't wait," Parker said.

"I'm going to be aggressive and I'm going to execute the plan, follow the strategy and get the win."

And Parker's trainer, Andy Lee, echoed this sentiment, as when asked what the game plan is, Lee said: "Fight fire with fire, let your hands go."

In terms of whether Lee believes Parker can knockout Wilder, he said: "We expect it."

Wilder, however, does not think this will end well for Parker as when questioned as to what would happen if Parker comes at him, he said: "Bam baby, goodnight."
