Ryan Garcia bursts into tears during Instagram live stream ahead of Devin Haney fight

Ryan Garcia has burst into tears during a live stream as he continues preparations to face Devin Haney.

Garcia's behaviour has raised the concern of fans ahead of his fight with Haney on April 20.

Some of his posts have caused widespread worry, including claiming he was 'high' during an interview, and the suggestion he was under attack.

Many have urged Garcia to be pulled out of his showdown with Haney, with the WBC having already held preliminary talks with the New York Commission over his participation for the fight.

Garcia has hit back at uneasiness over his mental health despite his behaviour, and insisted he is training and will be ready to go.

Footage has now emerged of Garcia in tears during an Instagram live stream on his personal account.

He said during his emotional speech: "I don't want to cry but it is only because the spirit and love I feel right now.

"I've been going through a lot lately and I have been going through a lot of hurt. I tried my hardest to share all the love that people gave me, and help the kids.

"I tried my best and everybody tried to break me down. I just tried to do something good, I put a lot on the line. They judged me hard but I kept going. And I just wanted to come on here and say I love you guys."

Garcia moved to clarify he was discussing his love for God which led to his heightened emotions.

The fight is set to go ahead despite fans' concerns over his behaviour, and Garcia has begun working with trainer Derrick James as he looks to secure the biggest win of his career.

Slow-motion training footage emerged from his camp of himself shadow-boxing, which saw fans suggest his chances of beating Haney were low.

But Garcia is confident that he can get the job done, and secure a win in his biggest fight since losing to Gervonta Davis in April 2023.

It will give the 25-year-old a shot at becoming world champion for the first time, and could propel him into further huge events at super-lightweight.

Subriel Matias holds the IBF title, while Teofimo Lopez holds the WBO and the Ring Magazine belts, so it could make for further intriguing duels if he is to score an upset win.
