Former UFC fighter claims Mike Perry is tougher fight for Jake Paul than Mike Tyson but would love one rule change

Brendan Schaub has warned fans expecting Jake Paul to walk through Mike Perry that they are in for a surprise.

Paul was set to face boxing legend Mike Tyson on July 20, but the fight was postponed with ex-UFC star and bare-knuckle boxer Perry stepping in to take the clash.

The 'Problem Child' will still fight Tyson at a later date of November 15, but believes his new opponent will be an ideal keep-busy opponent in the meantime.

Former UFC heavyweight Schaub is not so sure it will be as routine for Paul as many expect.

He tweeted: "If you don’t think this is a not only a better fight for Jake Paul but a WAY tougher fight than a 57-year-old Mike Tyson you don’t know s**t, kids."

A fan then questioned if Paul should have signed to a bare-knuckle boxing debut against Perry, to which he replied: "Yessss."

Paul is extremely unlikely to make any switch, particularly given the BKFC promotion is currently part-owned by rival Conor McGregor.

Perry is also an elite striker from his time in the UFC and has made a seamless graduation to BKFC.

He has won all five of his fights in the bare-knuckle ranks, including victories over current UFC welterweight Michael 'Venom Page', and previous competitors and former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.

He will likely provide a much sterner test, given he is also in his physical prime at the age of 32.

Heavyweight legend Tyson is in far worse physical condition, aged 58 having retired professionally from the sport in 2005.

He has medical conditions including sciatica, and was forced to stop training and delay the showdown after suffering an 'ulcer flare up'.

Paul is still nervous to face the ex-undisputed champion, given he has proven he still possesses power in short bursts on clips of training footage.

And the 26-year-old YouTube star has surprisingly given a much more confident prediction of his newly announced clash with Perry.

He said: "I’m literally potentially sacrificing the biggest moment of my career, the biggest payday of my career if I lose to Mike Perry.
