Roy Jones Jr.’s most famous knockout saw him land brutal one punch KO with hands behind his back

Roy Jones Jr. was a walking highlight reel anytime he stepped into the ring, but one moment stands apart from the rest.

Jones Jr.'s epic one punch knockout against Glen Kelly.

Jones Jr. and Kelly fought on February 2nd, 2002, when Jones Jr. was the undisputed light heavyweight world champion at the height of his powers.

Jones Jr. dominated Kelly.

He won every round of the first half of the fight, dropping Kelly twice.

Then in round seven, Jones Jr. produced one of the greatest boxing moments of all-time.

He put the finishing touches on a masterclass performance with a devastating knockout.

The world champion found himself up against the ropes, swiveling his head from left to right, showboating with his hands behind his back as he waited for Kelly to make the first move.

Kelly flicked out a jab, Jones countered and fired back with a powerful right hand.

Kelly's legs gave out and he dropped to the canvas, while the referee waved off the bout.

The boxer nicknamed Superman, had done it again.

This time, in theatrical fashion.

Kelly went on to fight for three more years, before retiring in 2005.

Meanwhile, Jones Jr. eventually moved up to the heavyweight division where he claimed an unanimous decision victory over John Ruiz to become WBA heavyweight world champion.

From there, Jones Jr.'s career was a mixed bag.

Last year he fought former UFC fighter Anthony Pettis, losing by majority decision.

Before that, he dipped into the exhibition circuit, taking on Mike Tyson, where the two ultimately fought to a draw after eight rounds.

Jones Jr. has publicly stated he wants to fight Jake Paul next.

“It makes you want to go in there and at least just test Jake Paul’s chin,” the 55-year-old Jones recently told TMZ Sports.

“You know he got a good punch. I know he’s capable of putting any- body out. But I don’t think Mike checked his chin at all, so I wouldn’t mind having a shot to see if I could get to his chin, to test his chin.

“He takes the shot, cool. Or if he can catch me before I can get to his chin, cool. But I would definitely like a shot to get in there and shoot at his chin, you know?”

Jones Jr. has a career 66-10 record, with 47 KOs.
