Eddie Hearn storms off stage at Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn press conference before final stare down

Eddie Hearn made an early exit from the stage after a back and forth with Chris Eubank Jr at the latter's press conference on Thursday.

Eubank Jr is set to square off with Conor Benn in huge grudge match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that has been two years in the making.

The bitter rivals were meant to face one another in October 2022 - almost 30 years after their legendary fathers' iconic two-fight series.

But the show was called off when Benn tested positive for banned substance clomifene in two pre-fight drug tests.

Benn was subsequently hit with a provisional suspension, which was eventually lifted as he now returns to home soil for the first time since April 2022.

Both men came face-to-face for their headline act in north London where over 66,000 fans are expected to be in attendance with the action live on talkSPORT.

However, it was a familiar scenario between Eubank Jr and Benn's promoter, Hearn, when the pair came to blows at Thursday's press conference.

"I'm going to switch it up," Heard said as he began speaking at the press conference live from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Hearn then asserted how proud he was of Benn, adding that he couldn't wait for his client to 'smash Eubank Jr to pieces'.

However, the Matchroom promoter didn't get much further as Eubank Jr persisted on continuously interrupting him.

"I don't want to hear it," he said, adding that it was a boxing show and no one wanted to hear from Hearn.

He added: "I'm gonna introduce you to scumbag number two. Frank Smith, come and take over," as the media in attendance gave a resounding applause.

Matchroom CEO Smith, who is ironically married to Eubank Jr's sister and is his brother-in-law, then got on to stage.

But he, unsurprisingly, hadn't any more luck, as Eubank Jr played into his irrelevancy anytime Smith attempted to speak.

"Frank, if Eddie's not speaking, do you think you're going to get a word in?" he said.

Both fighters remained largely reserved for the rest of the press conference, with Eubank Jr taking the lead for the most part.

Benn took a shot at his opponent's weight, as he has to cut down to 160lbs by tomorrow, calling Eubank Jr a 'fat boy.'

Eubank Jr then opened up about experiencing real pain, citing his brother's death and his dad calling him a 'disgrace,' as bigger things to be worried about than making weight.

He finished the press conference by admitting he still wants to make a £1 million bet with Hearn over the outcome of the fight before getting straight into an intense stare-off with Benn.
