Billy Joe Saunders fined £100,000 for ‘drug addict’ video but cleared to fight Demetrius Andrade

The 29-year-old has also been issued a severe reprimand over the video which showed him taunting a female drug addict

Billy Joe Saunders has been found guilty of misconduct by the British Boxing Board of Control over a controversial video which appeared to show him taunting a drug addict.

Saunders, 29, was caught in leaked footage offering a female '£150 of crack' in exchange for a sex act, before then urging his victim to strike a member of the public while calling him 'paedo'.

A hearing was scheduled to take place this week, and the BBBofC have found Saunders guilty of misconduct. He has been fined £100,000 and issued a severe reprimand as punishment.

However, Saunders has avoided a ban which means he is free for his upcoming fight against Demetrius Andrade, which is scheduled for October 20.

A BBBofC statement read: "Billy Joe Saunders appeared before the stewards of the British Boxing Board of Control today under a misconduct charge following his recent behaviour shown on social media.
