Oscar De La Hoya: Floyd Mayweather could have $1.5 billion fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez

With reports that Mayweather is being tempted back to boxing to fight Manny Pacquiao, De La Hoya suggests the real money is with Canelo

Floyd Mayweather Jr is teasing a return to boxing - once again - with reports suggesting he could be about to face Manny Pacquiao for the second time in his career.

Money moved to 50-0 with his victory over Conor McGregor in 2017, but at 42-years-old, it has always remained doubtful that he would step inside the ropes again.

Mayweather is, indisputably, one of the greatest pound-for-pound boxers to ever live, but Pacquiao - who currently holds the WBA welterweight title and is 40 himself - wants a second shot at Mayweather.

“Tell him to come back to the ring and we will fight,” Pacquaio said after defeating Adrien Broner. “I’m willing to fight Floyd Mayweather again if he’s willing to come back to boxing.”

Another high profile name Mayweather has beaten is Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Mayweather won their battle in 2013 via majority decision, but six years later, Canelo is one of the biggest names in boxing.
