Top ten longest unbeaten records of boxing world champions today, including Deontay Wilder at number two

Unbeaten records in boxing have always been important when it comes to creating an aura of invincibility around a fighter.

Floyd Mayweather successfully retiring at 50-0 is a huge part of his legacy in the sport, as it was for Rocky Marciano who called it quits at 49-0 decades before him.

However, some argue the after-effects of the Mayweather era have seen a worrying new precedent set in boxing where certain champions avoid dangerous challenges which come with the risk of defeat.

It’s believed that as a result of this we’re seeing less of the exciting 50/50 match-ups on which the sport thrives.

Others disagree with this notion and instead praise Mayweather’s impact on the sport – changing the financial landscape for fighters taking control of their own careers.

Regardless of this argument, the truth is that many of the current boxing world champions are undefeated, like it or not.

Take a look at the top ten longest unbeaten records of today’s title-holders below.
